Key Responsibilities

· Design and specify mechanical equipment according to applicable industry codes and standards including ASME, API, and others.

· Conduct mechanical design calculations, including pressure design, thermal analysis, and equipment optimization.

· Collaborate with chemical, instrumentation, and piping engineers to develop integrated system designs.

· Evaluate vendor proposals, review technical documentation, and provide oversight during equipment fabrication and delivery.

· Conduct root cause analyses for equipment performance issues and recommend engineering solutions.

· Travel occasionally to manufacturing sites or fabrication facilities to provide technical support and inspect critical equipment.

· Mentor and guide junior engineers, supporting knowledge transfer and technical development.

· Use tools such as AutoCAD or similar software to develop and review equipment layout and fabrication drawings.

· Apply FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) techniques to validate complex equipment designs.


Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering.

· 8+ years of experience in equipment design within industrial, energy, or process industries.

· Expertise in the design and analysis of heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and similar equipment.

· Proficiency in industry design tools and drawing review processes.

· Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards including ASME BPVC, B31, TEMA, ASTM, and API.

· Basic understanding of materials science, welding, and manufacturing practices.

· Familiarity with simulation tools such as ANSYS for FEA or CFD applications.

· EIT or PE licensure (or willingness to obtain) is preferred.

· Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

This role is responsible for performing both planned and reactive electrical maintenance, installation, and repairs in a highly regulated environment. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine planned maintenance and fault diagnosis on electrical systems.

• Perform corrective repairs on a variety of plant and distribution equipment,      including LV systems, generators, and UPS.

• Install and certify new electrical systems and equipment to required standards.

• Respond to reactive maintenance requests and ensure resolution within agreed timescales.

• Support and contribute to minor projects and small works when required.

• Accurately complete maintenance records and documentation for work completed.

• Participate in the on-call rota and, if required, obtain authorised person status      (e.g., for LV or confined spaces).

• Comply with safety and quality procedures, including RAMS, permit-to-work, and asbestos management protocols.

• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver efficient service.

• Proactively suggest improvements to systems and service delivery.

  

Qualifications & Skills:

• City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (C&G 2382-18).

• C&G 2391-10 or equivalent in Inspection & Testing (preferred).

• Knowledge of LV systems, backup power (generators/UPS), and industrial plant.

• Experience working in secure or regulated environments is advantageous.

• Confident understanding of HVAC and control systems is desirable.

• Must  be agile, mobile, and adaptable to working across multiple locations.
